The Last Post

For writing today we had to listen to The Last Post which is a song that commemorates the Anzac soldiers. After we had listened to the song we had to write 6-10 sentences about how it makes us feel. Here is my writing about The Last Post and how it makes me feel.

This song reminds me of Anzac Day obviously. But not only just Anzac Day, but all of the soldiers that had fought in the war. They not only fought for their country but also for the lives of others. This song is a song that just makes me feel lost in space thinking about the past of the soldiers that had fought for their country and for the lives of others. This song is meant to commemorate the soldiers that had fought in the war. It makes people remember but also it makes them feel in a different act of feeling. Like sadness and loneliness. It might make people feel like that in those ways. But as long as we keep playing this song to everyone whether they celebrate Anzac Day or not at least that we still have the memory of our heroes.

  1. I like they way you describe how The Last Post makes you feel. It is quite a powerful piece of music. I always think about how it must feel to be the person playing the song on their cornet. They must feel quite emotional doing it.

  2. Before I lived here, my husband and I played in a Pipe Band. Every ANZAC day we would participate in several parades. It didn't matter how many times I heard the Last Post, I would feel teary. Still feel that way now.
Do you have any family members that went to war Deakyn?
I agree that we should be playing this for everyone so we all pause and remember.
